Startup
After searching for UFOs in the local
network, if a UFO is properly connected the initial screen of the
EnergyUFO+ app the screen on the iPad appears as follows:
If instead you are prompted for a user
login, it means that the app did not find and UFO and gives you an
option for remote access when away from home. If you completed the
setup steps as indicated above and you get the user login prompt,
the UFO is not connected to the WiFi network.
There is no need to login or to create an account to use your
UFO when in the home network and you have got this screen because
the UFO is not connected to the network.
Troubleshooting
- If after starting the EnergyUFO+ app the login screen appear, it means that the UFO was not found. The login screen should appear only when you are away from home to remotely connect to the UFO. Make sure the iPad is in the same network when the in the same network of the UFO and check the connection parameters. There is no need to login or to create an account to use your UFO when in the home network.
- If after completing the procedure described, and restarting the UFO it does not connect to the Wi-Fi network, it will keep blinking the top green LED. After four minutes of trying to join the Wi-Fi network, it will time out and fallback into "ad-hoc" mode allowing for changing the Wi-Fi parameters restarting from the beginning of this Guide. The UFO has timed out in "ad-hoc" mode when the top LED is flashing yellow.
- If you are sure the Wi-Fi parameters are correct, and the UFO still times out, it may help to move the UFO closer to the access point or router. Sometimes, interferences can limit the range the UFO can be reached.
- If instead the Energy UFO+ application does not detect the UFO at startup, make sure the iPad Wi-Fi settings are correct. That is, that the special "Network" named "VE_UFO_xxxxxx" is selected if you are starting the process or that you have reverted the iPad Wi-Fi configuration to your own Wi-Fi network after connecting to the special "Network" named "VE_UFO_xxxxxx".
